online wellness and fitness coaching
At 40 years old I have what feels like a lifetime of experience in the fitness industry. I"ve published a couple of books on the subject and helped the United States Marine Corps/Navy Civilian Fire Service develop their Wellness and Fitness Initiative. I've trained or coached countless people in achieving their wellness and fitness goals. As a full-time Firefighter Paramedic, and my agency's Wellness and Fitness Coordinator, I continue to grow in experience and knowledge coaching my peers in reaching their goals as well as striving to reach my own.
Over the years, as both a former Marine and Firefighter, I've gained valuable experience leading fitness programs, conducting assessments, and most importantly, training people. I've received certifications from the International Sports Science Association (ISSA) as a Fitness Trainer and Sports Nutrition Specialist as well as from the American Council on Exercise (ACE) as a Peer Fitness Trainer. I've also pursued my education by earning a BA in Religious Studies, and a Masters in Business Administration.
Wellness and fitness have become a part of who I am and I want to share my passion now with you.
Getting "in shape" is 90% what we eat and 10% of what we do. This may be a slight exaggeration but the principle behind it is accurate. Every person who has the ability to choose what and when they eat as well as the ability to have some level of activity, can be in shape. It comes down to making a daily choice to be better.
To accomplish this you have to be disciplined and it's just that simple. Addressing discipline, I put together a workout log book that not only provides you with a detailed place to log your workouts, diet plan, and a journal to track how your body respnds to diet and fitness changes, but it teaches you how to build a program!
Below I've provided some basic information discussing the two primary things we can do to improve our overall wellness and fitness.
